The Standard Register Company is founded in Dayton, Ohio. It's first product - the pinfeed autographic register - revoluntionizes the way companies process bills, receipts, purchase orders and other forms.  
     
1932  
  The Registrator Platen Advances
office equipment automation.
     
1940  
Paperwork Simplification programs are launched to improve customers' processes.  
     
1943  
  Wooden registers help conserve metal for the war effort.
     
   
     
1954  
The automatic linefeeder provides
continual form alignment.
 
     
1956  
  Standard Register goes public with
its shares listed on the NASDAQ
Stock Market.
     
1962  
The THERMOBOND® Mailing
System produces self-seal, one-step
mailers.
 
     
1965  
  The Source Record Punch records
information in human-readable
and machine readable language.
     
1975  
Standard Register enters the label
business, acquiring the Universal
Tape& Label Co. The company
expands its systems offerings with

Burroughs Corporation and

Image Seal® self-mailers and
equipment seamlessly fold and
seal self-mailing documents in

  Standard Register stock begins
trading on the New York Stock
Exchange under the symbol SR.
     
   
     
1997  
Standard Register adds variable digital color capability to help clients develop premium color documents that are easily personalized, on demand.  
     
2000  
  Standard Register introduces e-business capability with its new SMARTworks® technology platform.
     
2001  
The company launches Six Sigma to increase customer focus and drive for growth.  
     
2003  


  Standard Register rolls out Web-based, management inventory system to help manufacturers better manage their label parts.
     
   
     
2004  
Standard Register introduces Dynamic Communications, a Web-based solution that gives companies the ability to create, assemble and distribute marketing campaigns or information kits, personalized for each recipient.  
     
2005  
  SR bolsters its document security capabilities with the introduction of color-shifting inks.
     
2006  
Standard Register opens new Document Services facility in Monterrey, Mexico to support US customers with operations south of the border.  
     
   
Standard Register aligns with Hewlett-Packard (HP) to provide Enterprise Managed Print Services.  
     
2007  
 

Standard Register is one of only six companies to make the top 100 technology innovators list five years running.  In 2007, the company placed in the top 10 at number six.  Standard Register has appeared on the InformationWeek 500 every year since 2000.
